Protect your account with an authenticator app
Add and verify an authenticator app from Account Security.
Open Account Security and find Authenticator apps. Choose Add authenticator app, confirm your identity, then choose Show authenticator setup. Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator or another compatible authenticator app.
Enter the current code from the app and verify the setup. The app is active only after verification succeeds. Add a second authenticator as a backup if you may lose access to your first device.
If setup is unavailable, refresh and try again; an unverified setup is not active. If you lose access to a verified app, use Contact Support. Support checks identity before removing a factor; do not share an authenticator code in a message.
